TBS Hemp Lip Balm Review

The search for the perfect lip balm has ended. It's a bittersweet feeling because you know you technically don't have an excuse to "trying out" other lip balms. But at the same time, it's wonderful that your dry lips can finally reply on something. This here, is my Holy Grail of lip balms: TBS Hemp Lip Treatment.

Packaging: (4/5)
The lip balm is packaged in your standard small plastic chapstick tube. It isn't flashy, but it gets the job done and makes for really easy carrying.

Color: (5/5)
The color is clear and barely noticeable. It's perfect for layering underneath lipstick.
Formula: (5/5)
The formula is a waxy, slightly hard - but not hard enough to apply. At first you may not notice it's moisturizing properties because its got a thin consistency. You'll soon feel it though, melting very nicely on your lips, giving them a nice moisture boost. After a few hours, if you've had any chapping or peeling, that goes away instantly. It's honestly amazing. This is the only lip balm that takes away chapped or peeling lips for me. And for that reason, I keep returning to it.

Scent: (4/5)
The scent is a slightly musty, grassy scent of hemp oil. The hemp oil is what I believe really helps with the healing process of the chapped lips.

Misc: (3/5)
The best part about this balm is the top end of the tube. I find that it's the most emollient with oils. As you go 3/4th's down the tube, the formula changes to a harder, dryer, less emollient formula. I also noticed that it's moisturizing properties isn't as potent as a fresh tube. Because of this, I don't really like to use the bottom end of the chapstick.

Pricing & Availability: (5/5)
Easily available in The Body Shop stores or online at the thebodyshop.com. It retails for $8.00. While it is a little more expensive than your drugstore lip balms, it's ability to take away chapped lips makes it a real winner.

Overall: (4.2/5)
While this lip balm isn't perfect, I do believe that it's the best one I own so far. The fact it's the only one that can turn chapped lips into perfectly healed lips makes this one my HG lip balm.

Are you still looking for that perfect lip balm?

  8. I haven't tried that line yet. I asked the sales rep about it and she says it's for people with oily skin. I'm too scared it would dry my skin out.

  11. Thanks for the review hun! I'm very curious about these hemp products, I have a body lotion made from hemp seeds - it smells amazing! I guess the actual hemp and hemp seeds must smell different when they are made into cosmetic goods.

  12. True. Sometimes they do retain their hemp scent though. Sometimes they have added scents which cover up the hemp scent. I personally really like it, but I don't wanna go around smelling like I just smoked some, you know? Lmao, especially at the workplace. I remember one time I had a hemp scented lotion. Oh god, I was torn between dry hands or smelling suspicious. xD
