Lorac Pro Palette Review

Lorac, Beauty Blogger, Review, Makeup, Beauty, Swatches

Lorac's PRO Palette $42.00 USD

Last year, Lorac introduced the PRO palette. It contains 8 matte shadows, located on the top row, and 8 sparkle/shimmer shadows. According to Sephora, it is:
A professional palette featuring 16 ultra-pigmented eye shadows infused with soothing botanicals and a mini Behind The Scenes Eye Primer for stay-true color that lasts.
I've had this for about 3 months now and it's definitely one of my favorite palettes. The formula is oh-my-goodness so buttery. I never knew eyeshadow could be so buttery soft and smooth. This makes it so easy to blend. It's also pretty long lasting. I've worn this to dinners, parties, clubs, and this stuff stays through all night. Here's a summary of the pro's and con's.

Pros:
- 8 Matte and 8 Shimmer/Sparkle (Makes for a very versatile palette)
- Formula: super soft and buttery.
- A dream to blend
- A matte black !! (Finally, I could use this for eyeliner!)
- Lasts all night

Cons:
- Packaging gets really dirty easily. (Because of the softness, the makeup settles into a dust that gets the sides dirty.)
- My packaging did not come perfect. (The edges of the palette aren't perfectly straight.)
- Very, very hard to find. (I think I went to Sephora 5 times before giving up. In the end, I ended up ordering it online with a 20% discount. Whoot!)

Color:
I was going to go over the colors with you but then I realized that the name is self-explanatory. Instead, I'll just list them for your convenience.

Top row matte colors: White, Cream, Taupe, Light Pink, Mauve, Sable, Espresso, Black; Bottom row: Nude (Shimmer), Champagne (Sparkle), Gold (Shimmer), Lt. Bronze (Shimmer), Pewter (Shimmer), Garnet (Shimmer), Deep Purple (Shimmer), Slate (Shimmer)

Some Afterthoughts:
I love the quality of Lorac's Eyeshadows. If you're thinking about getting Naked 2 or the Lorac PRO, try thinking which one you'll be more apt to use. The Naked 2 will have more shimmer, so it'll be useful for night time looks. Do you mostly wear makeup at night, on dinners, dates, and clubs? Or do you also wear makeup at work? If you only wear makeup at night, then stick to the Nakeds. If you're more apt to wearing makeup during the day, consider Pro Palette.

Availability:
Lorac's PRO Palette is available at your local Sephora and Ulta. Also available online at Lorac's website, Sephora and Ulta.

    1. Thanks Melli!

Lol, I actually waited for a sale to buy this. Sephora usually has biannual F/F sales of 20% off. I think their next one should be in April. That's usually how the trends go. It'll come out to $33.60 with a 20% off discount.

  6. Great review. Thanks! I've seen this palette around but never seen a review on it. I love the idea of shimmer and matte, because I enjoy shimmer shadows but definitely don't use them exclusively and like to have matte options for my crease, etc.

I just started following your lovely blog on gfc :)

I'd love if you'd check mine out too if you have time!

  14. I love this palette! One of my all time favorites! I 100% agree about the packaging. My only beef with this palette is that I wish it was more sturdy. Otherwise, it's darn near perfect!

  15. I love this palette for eyeshadow iridescent.
But not for matte eyeshadows because I can not fade and lose a lot of their pigmentation.
