Yuzen Fall 2013 Review

This months Yuzen box is all about the transition from Summer into Fall. As always, it comes with an eloquent little note written from Jen and Ted. You really get a nice feeling that they definitely hand picked each item with a lot of thought. This months box came in a cute little reusable box. (I have to say, I really do love the Yuzen designs.) This is what I got in this season's box.

Acure Argan Cell Stimulating Body Wash
This first item is from Acure, a brand I've heard many great things about. I've been using this body wash since it came in (also because I ran out of body wash - hello serendipity!) So far it's been going great. It doesn't really have a strong scent, which is fine with me. Also, it doesn't strip my skin of it's natural moisture. This is always a plus for me as I have some really dry skin. As for the "Cell Stimulating" factor, I'm not exactly sure how to test that theory or not. But nevertheless, this does it's job pretty well as a body wash.

Ajara Ayurvedic Beauty Tea Bath Sachet
Upon initial inspection, I thought I had received some bath salts again, but it's actually a Tea Bath Sachet! I honestly didn't even those existed. The pouch is really cute and it smells wonderfully of lavenders and roses! It was a very calming scent. I'm tempted to use this as aromatherapy instead.

Coola Mineral Facial Sunscreen
This is actually a BB Cream from Coola. I actually received an identical sample from Ipsy in July, but still, I almost out of the first sample so a second one isn't bad! I've been loving the fact that it matches my skin tone pretty well and that it's got sunscreen. I'll definitely be able to make use of this.

Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive
Okay, I'll be honest, I'll try every other skincare product but peels. Just the sound of it kinda sorta scares me. So this one might just have to be a giveaway.

Sanitas Vita Rich Serum
This serum feels like a very thick blend of oil. It does sit at the top of your skin for quite some time, but later on, your skin just feels so soft and moisturized. I apply this at night, particularly around my hands and feet for that extra moisture and it's been doing quite a lot to keep my hands soft.

Sphatika Vitamin A Night Cream
I love trying out face creams. It's like one of those super expensive things that you want to try in every brand! So you can imagine how excited I was for this. The first couple pumps were tricky as nothing really came out. I eventually resorted to just opening the thing. It's got a very strong rosy scent. For those that are particularly sensitive to strong scents, you should probably stay away. However, if you absolutely love the smell of roses, then this one's pretty good.

Torie & Howard Blood Orange and Honey Hard Candy
This one came in super cute packaging. It tastes like .... orange in a hard candy form? I'm not sure how to describe it, but it really wasn't for me.

Verve Organis Soul Siser Lavender Nut Sugar Scrub
Hooray for another lavender scented item! This one definitely feels very spa like. I love body scrubs and simply cannot get enough. The sugary grainy things are small chunks of sugar, ready to exfoliate the body. And the scent, oh wow the scent just smells so good. A mix of lavender flowers and subtle nuts.
Overall:
Yuzen still remains to be one of my favorite subscription boxes for their careful choices of natural beauty products. I'm always looking to transition into a more organic beauty regimen and Yuzen really helps with that. Unfortunately, in order to keep up with the quality of their products, Yuzen has had to raise their prices from $26.00 to $33.00. If this was a monthly box, I'm not sure if a lot of us could afford it, but because it's only quarterly, I think it still remains pretty affordable for the quality of products you get. I'll still be subscribing to Yuzen as they still remain my favorite subscription box. Get yours here at Yuzenbox.com.
