April Empties

It's the end of the month again, and that means ... April Empties!

The first is Spa Technologies Marine Repair Cream. I received a sample of this from my spring Yuzen Box. The lotion is very light and sinks into the skin very easily. It's got a very faint stickiness to it that goes away eventually. It smells like lotion and herbal good-for-you stuff.

Nars Dolce Vita Review and Swatches

Every once awhile, you get a lip color that just seems to match no matter what you're wearing. It's that subtle, not too pink, not too bright, not too dark lip color. Dolce Vita Velvet Lip Pencil by Nars does that for me.

Sephora FF Haul Spring 2013

Several times a year, Sephora goes on a 15% - 20% off F&F haul. If you're like me, there's no saying no to something like this. Especially if you've been eying something for quite a long time. I did my best to not buy everything I wanted. So here's what I picked up:

News: Sephora Pulling Lorac Counters

Several months ago, I read a review about a Lorac Palette on makeupalley.com. A reviewer, tlkingsley, wrote, "IMO, LORAC palettes are the unsung heroes of the makeup industry!!" And now I can fully understand why.


Last week, I walked into my local Sephora, about to browse the Lorac section when I noticed something odd. The counter was no longer there. Instead, it was replaced with a counter filled with miscellaneous makeup sets. When I asked the sales associate where it was, she said, "We no longer carry Lorac in store, but we still carry them online." I was a little shocked, and pretty much in denial for the first couple of seconds. I began to wonder if she was joking with me. (Sometimes people do that!) When I realized she wasn't, I asked ... why? She informed me that she wasn't sure either. She thinks, "It's because they aren't selling as much as the other brands - which is strange because people ask me about Lorac almost every day."

Outside Packaging.

For quite some time now, I've been lemming over this palette. With a 50% off sale, I couldn't help but pick it up. 

The shadows are housed in a cardboard frame with magnetic closure. The packaging is similar to the Naked 1 and Lorac Pro Palette. But the material of outside is a smooth paper consistency. Anyway, I won't bore with super details of the packaging. Onto the pictures:

The Balm Haul

During April Fools Day, TheBalm launched their new website and with that, an additional 50% off their entire website. Unfortunately, their site crashed within hours of launching. I was one of the lucky ones able to order that day. This is what I've picked up.

Here I used Champagne all over the lid. Then Taupe all over the crease. I then kept on blending until I was content. Then I added Sable into my outer V. And then continued to keep blending.

Eyeliner is Lorac's Pro Eyeliner in Black.

Foundation: NARS Sheer Glow in Barcelona

Lips: TBS Hemp Lip Balm and NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita
