Ipsy June 2013

This June, Ipsy has decided to go "on the wild side" with glittery fun things. After seeing the spoilers running around the internet, I was pretty excited for this bag. I know I was supposed to be cancel last month, but because last months bag was so awesome, I decided to keep them until I receive a bag I absolutely dislike.

Cailyn Gel Eyeliner, Nyx Cream Blush, J. Cat Beauty, Chella, Starlooks

Cailyn Gel Eyeliner in Iron ($21.00)

The first thing I picked up was this eyeliner. It comes in a pot with a built-in brush. According the box, it claims to be "water resistant, smudge-proof, 24 hour wearing and safe for sensitive eyes." While swatching this on my hand, I noticed the formula to be slightly creamy and easy to apply. I first thought it was very light, but then noticed that the color was Iron. So it isn't meant to be jet black eyeliner. As for all the other claims, I still have to test them out. Possible full review later.

Nyx cream blush in Orange ($6.00)
The next item is a blush from Nyx. I was kind of hoping for any powder blushes, but it's okay. I'm willing to try anything. At first glance, the color was a tid bit on the scary side of orange. But once swatched and fully blended, it came out to a gorgeously sheer peachy shade. It was quite lovely actually. I can't wait to use this.

J. Cat Beauty sparkling cream palette in Volta ($4.50)
You know that glitter you used to play with as a kid? Imagine that in an eyeshadow form and you have this palette. I'm not really sure if I'd ever use this palette. Once swatched on my arm it was just that - glitter with a clear wax that helps it stay on the eyes. Perhaps this would look lovely as an add additional add on for evening looks.

Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter ($18.00)
This highlighter looks lovely. I have yet to use this one but it looks promising.

Starlooks Lip Pencil in Bare ($12.00)
I've been noticing a lot of Starlooks products in beauty subscription boxes, so I was quite excited to try this one out. The formula was creamy and nice. The color I received was a mauve taupey kind of color. Probably not my cup of tea but I'll definitely try this.

Overall: For $10, this was a pretty good box. Everything in my bag was full sized which is amazing. I love when subscription boxes do this. I could see myself using the eyeliner and blush quite often (which is more than twice the price of the whole bag.)

Have you subscribed to Ipsy?
If so, how do you like this months bag?

  1. I still have yet to use it much. I heard it's best to be used under the brow. I'm going to try it for that and see what kind of results I get.

  6. Yeah, I have to say that of all my boxes, this one and yuzen has the best value. One of the reasons I'm still keeping this instead of cancelling and trying out one month like I had planned. And I'm not so sure about what to do with the glitter palette either...

  7. I love reading about blogger's ipsy boxes! I don't think they post to where I live which sucks cause the products inside are always amazing and excellent value. Maybe one day! Enjoy the box :)

  8. So many nice beauty boxes over there! I love the 'on the wild side theme'. Wish I had that leopard print bag! Not sure if I'd use the glitter eye shadow either but at least it's pretty to look at :P

$10.00 is great for this. Good review :)

  14. Ahh, I know what you mean about the cream blush! I try not to think about it and always wash my hands before touching makeup. And yeah, Ipsy has been very generous these past couple months. I hope they keep it up!

  15. This one's pretty interesting. I used it today and I thought it was pretty good. A little harder to blend, but overall great formula and staying power!

  16. Hey MuShii. Yeah I read that somewhere on Ipsy's website, these aren't meant to be used for the eyes. But it'd be pretty cool to have glitter designs all over your body. :D

  18. 5 full size products for $1o! my goodness, I think the companies in australia would go out of business if they did that lol. Very generous! The only thing I dont like about cream blushes is the lack of hygiene, I always get random bits of fluff stuck in mine :/ otherwise it looks beautiful on the skin!
