Ipsy November 2013

It seems like I'm always a month late when posting up my Ipsy Reviews. There's just never enough time to post them away it seems. Anyway, I just wanna say that I am super excited about this box. Particularly because I'm really loving several items. (Enough to actually want more of them.) To read which item I've loved, just click to read more.

Em Cosmetics Sheer Lipstick in Violalicious
My absolute favorite item in the box. Based on other people's boxes, you either received a lipstick, lip balm or eyeliner. At first I was a little bummed out to receive a milky violet color, because it's not something I wear on an everyday basis. I decided to try it though. Let me just say, this lipstick applies like a dream. It's really hydrating and moisturizing. The color, surprisingly, looks gorgeous and wearable as well. I've actually used this several times outside. It's a great color for those shy of other brighter colors. And while it is sheer, the color is very pigmented. Think of Revlon's Lip Butters - but much more moisturizing. It doesn't leave your lips dry after several hours. I really enjoy this lipstick so much, that I'm thinking of picking up some more.

Be a Bombshell Chubby Lip Pencil
These lip pencils are really becoming a hot trend. The color I received is a neutral red lipstick, which is fully opaque and comes in a matte finish. This lip pencil in particular is a little bit on the drying side. I'll have to see how long it lasts too. I do love the matte red finish of it though. There are days where I'm perusing through my makeup and I can't find my Bobbi Brown lipstick in Red Carpet. This one could be a backup for one of those days.

BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Eyeshadow
I love that I got purple stuff in the box lately. Most of the time, I'm not a fan of colors. To be honest, I have yet to open this up. But once I do, I'll let you know how it goes.

Starlooks Eyeliner
I've been receiving quite a lot of products from Starlooks - mostly coming from the Ipsy Bags. So far none of them have really wowed me. This eyeliner however is actually a decent color. It's an amethyst, metallic color. I might have to give it a chance. Maybe. I'll see. Although it is starting to look a bit like going into my giveaway pile.

Nailtini Nail Polish in Silver
This came just in time because I couldn't my find other nail metallic silver nail polish. Isn't it nice when things like this happen? Anyway, Nailtini's Nail Polishes are really quite beautiful. The texture of this was really lovely. My mother happened to paint her nails with these and they came out very metallic and a little darker than expected. This color would also be great as a embellishment in nails.

Pixi Bronzer
While I have read great reviews on this, I honestly haven't had a chance to try it out yet. (I know, I know, this is already late and I don't even have reviews of this yet.) Well I'd just like to say that I've always wanted to keep trying Pixi out. Their packaging is interesting in cutesy kind of way.

Overall:
So far, I think that several items here really made up for, err, the starlooks products I've been receiving. I wonder if there's a way for me to say, "no more Starlooks, please?" Anyway, if you'd like to subscribe to Ipsy, just go to their website at Ipsy.com.

  2. Ooh so envious of you Lynn, this box looks lovely! I really want to try EM Cosmetics and BH too but one doesn't ship to the UK and the other is expensive. The lipstick sounds so dreamy especially for dry winter lips! I think the colour looks really nice and unusual too.

  4. I've gotten a few Starlooks products as well. I wonder if that's their filler brand? I don't need any more of those pencils either lol.

  6. Thanks Kathryn!! It really is great! I think that since Ipsy is getting so big, maybe they'll consider making international shipments! I'm actually surprised that they don't do that.

  8. Lol, I really do think so.... I guess if Starlooks has a lot of extra products, this a great way to use them up. The thing is though I've never actually liked any of their products. And lol, yeah they are always pencils that I get from Starlooks. I think I got an eyeliner and a lip liner before. None of which I really liked actually....
