Klorane Dry Shampoo Review

In the past, looking for dry shampoo wasn't the easiest thing - especially since it was fairly new and not readily available in your average beauty market. But now, with the plethora of hair products emerging, dry shampoo is pretty much available in every well rounded beauty boutique. Over the past few years, I've only tried one dry shampoo, and it absolutely made me hate the idea of dry shampoo. Instead of absorbing oils, it only made my hair feel greasier and heavier - only to irk me enough to wash it within half an hour. Needless to say, I stayed away from dry shampoos for quite some time. Until now. Enter Klorane's Dry Shampoo - apparently the best dry shampoo on the market. I recall a friend of mine telling me years ago, "this one's supposed to be the best one out there." It took me years to finally pick it up and I'm glad to say I did.

What
Klorane's Dry Shampoo is a type of hair spray that's actually a powder. It's meant to absorb any excess oils you may have on days you don't wash your hair. It comes in a sleek white hair spray bottle. The one I bought is a sample size.

Why
If you've ever tried dry shampoo - like the really bad ones, you'll know right away that there's no way to use to them unless you just suck it up and go through the icky dirty feeling. With this one though, you don't really get that. Instead, it really does feel like your head can breathe as the powder just sucks up all the oils. (Gross, I know.)

How
You basically spray an even amount throughout your hair and comb through. Well, at least that's what you're supposed to do. I have a slightly different method. The idea is to get the hairspray to cover as much of your scalp as possible. I do this by starting at the bottom hairs - those closest to the neck. I hold the rest of my hair up, spray the bottom, and then let some layers down. Spray again. Let some layers down. Spray again. You get the idea. After the spraying, massage your head. That's right. Let it massage your scalp to thoroughly set the powder all through out your hair. Be very careful though as the powder is white. If you over apply, your hair will look duller. I've actually over applied once and got a good peek at how I'd look 40 years from now. Quite interesting actually... But that's besides the point.

Pricing and Availability
I bought this for about $7.00 at my local beauty and hair supply store. It's the smaller travel sized one as I wanted to sample it first before committing to a buy. I've seen it at some Target stores, but it should most likely be available at a beauty supply store.

Overall 5/5
I'd have to say that this is one of the best - if not the best dry shampoo that I've tried. It's pretty good at keeping my hair from looking greasy and unkempt. Plus, as an added bonus, my hair looks lifted and alive!
