Ipsy October 2013 Bag

This month, Ipsy's theme is "The Art of Beauty." I have to say,  of all the other month's bags, this was probably the most packed bag I've received. It was pretty exciting opening a fat bag. Anyway, onto the goodies! Upon opening the bag, I noticed that there were some things outside the bag. Yes that's how stuffed this months bag is. To see what kind of goodies I received, continue reading.

The first item outside the makeup bag was LA Fresh's Oil-free Face Cleanser wet wipes. This is great because I've always been tempted to buy these at Bed Bath & Beyond, but never actually got to it. They're also great for being travel sized and easy to pack. So yeah, can't wait to try this one out.

Inside the bag, I see that we have another Zoya nail polish crushed in here with all the other goodies. That's okay though, because the nail polish itself is intact. I received the color Giovanna, which is a dark greenish teal metallic color. Very daring for fall. I have to admit, I painted my nails with these right away.

The next up is Big Sexy Hair's Blow Dry Volumizing Gel. I'm not really a "blow dry" hair kind of person because I've found that it dries my hair out really fast. But I do want some sexy volume. My hair is pin straight and flat. I cannot wait to see this lift up my hair. If it works out well, I might even post up a full review. We'll see. Especially since my some time has opened up in my life.

The very next product is something from Buxom. I was pretty excited to see that I got a pretty high end product this month. Especially after missing out on UD's lipstick. Unfortunately though, it's a lip plumping lip gloss. One that I had tried before. My lips are pretty sensitive to this lip gloss so I might just have to give it away. The color is really pretty too. I received Dolly - a muted mauve color.
And last but not least, is a hand cream by Cake Beauty. I didn't even know they made hand creams! It's got coconut oil and has a really strong aroma of coconut. While I am a fan of coconut oil, the scent is pretty strong. I don't really mind it, but I can see someone being offended by it's heavy scent. I tried this one out right away and instantly knew I'd be getting tons of use from this one. I find that I always finish lotions from subscription bags.

Anyway, this months bag has probably been the best one since May. I'm pretty delighted to see that the Zoya nail polish pretty much trumps the cost of the whole thing. This one of the things I love about Ipsy. It's that it's so affordable and cheap that it makes saying no to it quite hard. And also... not to mention the 1-2 month waiting list. I really thought about canceling last month because of the UD thing, but decided to give it one more month to see how it would do. And so far, this month makes it up for it.  Anyway, if you do sign up for Ipsy, the one pet peeve that I have about them is that they'll advertise some really high end brand - like UD - and then piss you off if you don't get it. But at least your next few months won't be that bad. Anyway, if you'd like to sign up for Ipsy, my link is here.

  1. Sounds like a really nice bag! I want to try the Buxom lip glosses, but I haven't used lip-plumping products before so I'm not sure how I'll like it. The Cake hand cream sounds divine... love coconut scents :)

  2. Really love the nail polish shades they sent out this month - I have the blue one but the green and purple ones are really pretty too. I used the face cleanser wipes, and was disappointed in them as they did nothing to remove makeup. Now I just use them when swatching products on my arm lol.

  3. Thanks so much Ellie! The Buxum lip gloss isn't really my thing as it's plumping effect really does sting my lips. And the hand cream does have an aromatic scent.

  4. Lol that's funny because it was one of the first things I used (the face cleanser wipes.) I ended up using it for my face then doing it for my arm as well. I've found that when doing mad swatches, these little things can be so useful.
