Wantable Beauty Box September 2013

Several weeks ago, I received a request to do a review on Wantable's beauty box. After seeing some beauty reviews, I knew I couldn't say no to them. After receiving this month's box, I'm now pretty tempted to get a second. Well first off, what is Wantable? Wantable is a beauty box subscription that's been floating around the blogosphere for quite some time. They have three categories you can choose from - Beauty, Accessories or Intimates. I opted for the Beauty Box - beauty junkie that I am of course. If you want to know more about Wantable and more on what's in the box, continue reading. :)
How Does It Work?
- $40 per month for one month
- $36 per month for a subscription
- Create and customize your profile through a survey. (More on this later)
- Not happy? Return the box for a full refund! Or skip a month.

What makes it different from other boxes?
Well for one, it is on the higher price point of subscription boxes - but for good reason. Every product in the box is full size with the occasional additional sample. I really love that aspect of it because you really do get a lot of product from them. The next thing that makes them different is their survey.

Wantable is Fully Customizable.
What does that mean? They let you take a really detailed survey. I mean, not just if you like or dislike products - but also what kind of colors, textures, pigmentation, sheerness, etc. For example, when it comes to eyeshadow, you get to choose whether you Love, Like or Dislike neutral, colored, loose, cream, matte, shimmer and glitter eyeshadows. Yeah, it's pretty specific. It took me several minutes to complete the survey. But don't worry, it won't take you an hour.

I'm really excited about this because, I've read somewhere that someone actually made their survey really specific. They disliked everything except the one product she wanted - I think it was lipstick. And she got really detailed with it - disliking everything except the one thing she wanted the most out of. I really wish I did this. I didn't know until after clicking through the survey that you could do this. At the moment though, it's only something I've heard someone else do. I'm still looking for that particular person that did this and couldn't find it. So if you know anyone that's done this, please link them up. I'd love to see what he/she received. Anyway, onto the goodies!

Lise Watier Ombre Souffle cream eyeshadow
At the very top of the box is the sample they give you. I received a Lise Watier Ombre Souffle cream eyeshadow in Sunrise Peach and Vert Enchante. When swatched, they appeared quite sheer and glittery. It reminded me of Lorac's Liquid Lustres. The consistency is very soft - almost whipped. These are also definitely meant to be used at night. I'll have to try them out to see how long they last.

 Japonesque Smudger Brush
The next product is *gasp* a Japonesque smudger brush. Okay I gasped for two reasons. The first is that Japonesque is well known to have pretty high quality tools and ... not to mention pretty expensive. I only have one of their brushes and really like it's quality. The second gasp is because I've really been looking to get a high quality smudger brush. I realized it's one of the things missing in my beauty collection.

Be A Bombshell Blush
The next product is a blush from Be a Bombshell. The color is Glowing Goddess which is a pale peach with orange undertones and slight shimmer. Honestly, the shimmer was so small, I actually thought it was matte at first until I saw some sparkle. This looks like it would be a great fall color.

Manna Mascara
The next product is a mascara from Manna. This is the first time I've heard of their brand, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this mascara goes. The wand has a very similar shape to the kind of sampler wands they have at Sephora.

Michael Marcus Eyeliner
The next product is a Michael Marcus eyeliner in Galaxy. Galaxy is pretty well named as the eyeliner is speckled with beautiful sparkles. This is my first eyeliner with bits of shimmer. I'm pretty excited to play around with it. The overall color comes out gray - not too strong and heavy. It's also very blendable with the smudger brush.

Cailyn Lip Tint
And last, is my favorite (surprisingly) - a lip stain from Cailyn. I've been noticing a lot of Cailyn cosmetics in the subscription box lately. So far their lip products keep impressing me. This one is in a red tint - just perfect for fall and winter season. The tint swatches out to a berry hue and can be built up to more opacity. I love ... love love that it looks like my lips aren't wearing anything. I think this is a true definition of "no makeup makeup." I was pretty dumbfounded when I looked in the mirror and saw that they looked like my regular lips - just with more color. I know other stains tend to still be obvious, but this one wasn't. So yeah, I'm pretty happy with this little one.

Overall
I have to say that I'm fairly impressed with this box. And while $40 is a lot of cough up in a month, I feel like the things you get in the box are worth it - especially if you can afford it. I also think this is great for people who are looking for a certain item - such a lipstick or eyeliner. And then pretty much just dislike everything but that particular item you want to venture out on. (While I have tons of lippies, I'm tempted to get a month of lippies just for fun. So you might see my posts in the future when/if I do this.) If you'd like to sign up, this the link: Wantable.com.

  7. The glowing goddess blush looks fabulous. I really want to try it, such a
nice looking shade. Japonesque is such a wonderful brand. I had been
hunting for a foundation brush for a while, the one they have is hands
down my favorite. I also liked the lip stain, not too big on the ones
that pop so much, the natural look is definitely better.

Great blog, I really like it♥

  9. Which foundation brush do you have? I usually use my hands when applying foundation as that usually gets it done without caking. Yeah my favorite one from here is definitely the lip stain. I really love how long it lasts and how natural it looks.

  11. I use the Pro Angled foundation brush, it works wonders. I use my hands sometimes, too, it all depends on how I'm feeling that day, haha!

  12. Oh that's pretty neat!! It must work very well! I remember when I used to paint, my favorite brush was an angled brush, similar to the foundation brush you mentioned. It was so multi-tasking that I could almost use it singlehandedly for painting. xD But yeah, that's awesome that you found a great brush!
